An Enquiring Mind: Manolo Blahník
Last Saturday I went to the Wallace Collection to see the Manolo Blahník exhibition. The exhibition opened on June 10th but I hadn't heard of it until I happened to stumble across a blog post on Vogue about it a couple weeks ago. Due to end September 1st, and with free admission, I decided I would have to go and pay a visit.
Because of having free admission, I didn't have high expectations, however I couldn't have been anymore wrong. Over 100 shoes were on display and also some original sketches and illustrations were on display. Not to forget a great little gift shop with some Manolo goodies to take home.
If you haven't already been to the Wallace Collection then you will not be let down, the stunning interior and decor only added to the atmosphere in which Blahník's shoes seemed to fit in perfectly. Sadly the building is currently under construction but don't let that put you off from going inside.
The majority of the shoes on display were upstairs, all spread throughout the first floor. Every room was stunning and the shoes were slotted in in such a way that they just felt like part of the furniture.
